Anatomy for Medical Billing and Coding: Introduces the student to the human body in language used by medical coding and billing professionals. The course will give the student an understanding of how the human body operates. 20 Hours
Medical Terminology for Medical Billing and Coding: Introduces the student to the medical terminology used in the medical coding and reimbursement profession. 20 Hours
Medical Office Administrative Assistant: This course prepares the student to obtain an entry-level position in a medical office setting. Students will develop written and oral skills as well as gain knowledge in office procedures and utilization of business equipment. In addition, students will learn HIPAA compliance, EHR maintenance, appointment scheduling, Insurance eligibility and benefits verification, payment collection and many other administrative tasks to help keep physician's offices operating efficiently Includes Anatomy and Medical Terminology 40 Hours
Medical Billing and Reimbursement: Introduces the student to the health insurance and reimbursement industry. In this course the student will become familiar with common medical billing practices, legal and regulatory issues and differences in reimbursement methodologies. The student will learn principals of medical billing related to proper claim form preparation, submission and payment processing. This course is recommended for anyone preparing to take the AAPC CPB exam or looking to obtain a career in a medical billing department. 80 Hours
Physician-Based Medical Coding: This course teaches fundamental coding skills for an outpatient physician setting and prepares the student to take the AAPC CPC exam for a career in medical coding. This course provides the most up-to-date information relating to CPT, ICD-9/ICD-10-CM and HCPCS coding and assures a broad encompassing knowledge and expertise in reviewing and assigning the correct procedure and diagnosis codes for physician services. 80 Hours
